BILLINGS — Families in Billings celebrated a new playground that can accommodate children who may not have been able to use the equipment before.
Every Child Plays allows wheel chairs to move around easier and has special equipment.
Rose Park Elementary School has the only playground of its kind in Billings.
More than 400 came out to the ribbon cutting and grand opening party on Saturday.
The Rose Park Elementary School Parent Teacher Association raised the money and collected materials to build the nearly half a million dollar project.
"My oldest son said to me, 'so if this playground is built, does that mean i can actually play with my brother?'" said Jamie Buechler. "My son can actually play and be a part with other children."
"We've seen kids interacting with kids of different abilities at recess," said Cartina DeGuire, Every Child Play project co-chair and PTA member. "it's just a beautiful project on so many different levels, not just about the play, but it's about bringing people together and I think we've been able to accomplish that."
