A fast-moving grass fire west of Two Dot in Wheatland County Sunday afternoon burned five to six acres of land along Montana Highway 12.
Wheatland County Sheriff Everett MIsner told MTN News, the fire was sparked by an apparent electrical issue with a pivot sprinkler system.
Misner credits quick action by Wheatland County firefighters, sheriff deputies and volunteers from the Martinsdale Hutterite Colony in stopping the flames from spreading to the nearby river bottom, and through a road construction site.
The fire was burning right alongside Highway 12, with gusty winds creating intermittent visibility problems for motorists.
