What is touted as the biggest fireworks show in the state will happen in Laurel this year.
Assistant Chief Kent Kulesa said Thursday the Laurel firefighters will again shoot fireworks on the Fourth of July.
He said his department is working on phase two guidelines with the RiverStone Health. These guidelines are in place to limit crowds to curb the spread of COVID-19.
Kulesa will make an announcement later with the details.
The Laurel Chamber of Commerce stated on its Facebook page that it plans to announce a decision on Friday about the parade and other Independence Day festivities.
The Fourth of July typically draws thousands of people to Laurel each year. The fireworks are shot off at dusk in Thomson Park, where people often gather in close quarters to watch the show.
