Longtime Billings philanthropist, banker Randy Scott dies

BILLINGS — The Billings community is mourning the loss of longtime philanthropist, community leader and banking executive Randy Scott.

The 65-year-old Scott, chairman of the First Interstate Foundation, passed away unexpectedly over the weekend.

Scott has headed the First Interstate Foundation since 2006, and for the past seven years has served as a director of First Interstate BancSystem.

Over the past two decades, Scott worked in various capacities for the company, including time as branch manager in Colstrip.

Scott earned his business degree from Rocky Mountain College and among many other activities spent countless hours volunteering for the Billings Heights National Little League, Special Olympics, and YMCA.

Funeral services will be held Saturday at Rocky's Fortin Center beginning at 2 p.m.

Scott is survived by his wife Lynette, four children and two grandchildren.
