BILLINGS — After two weekends of Sneak A Peak and now four days of MontanaFair, COVID-19 safety has become almost routine.

Employees get temperatures checked before the start of the fair day.

It is one of the safety precautions for MontanaFair.

Wiping down the equipment after each ride is also part of the protocol.

Thomas Carnival management says dealing with the requirements have been good for health and for employee relations.

"The idea is try to detect if somebody's not feeling well," said John Hanschen, Thomas Carnival, Inc. President. "And if they would have a little temperature or wouldn't be feeling well that you get a quarantine and separate them from the rest of the group. some of them aren't worried about it at all. but about 10 percent of them, they want to know what their temperature is. yea, you're 97.2 today and they go fist pump, alright we're good today. It's nice when the management gets to know them even better than you knew them before and I've actually enjoyed that part of it."

Hanschen said when he can not get cleaning chemicals from his regular supplier, he has found that Lysol works as a replacement, partly because is does not harm paint on the equipment.
