Two men were transported to local hospitals shortly after 2 p.m. Thursday after a motorcycle struck a pedestrian near downtown Billings.

A witness said the pedestrian was trying to run across Sixth Avenue North to the south near the intersection of North 24th Street when he was struck by the westbound Harley Davidson motorcycle.

The witness said the motorcyclist tried to avoid the walker but couldn't avoid him.

The extent of both men's injuries are unknown. Sixth Avenue North was shut down for a brief time while emergency crews cleared the crash. Billings police are investigating the incident.
