COLUMBUS — A 47-year-old Morganton, N.C. man was killed in a crash Wednesday evening just north of Columbus.
The man was the passenger in a Pontiac G6 driven by a 44-year-old woman from Butte.
According to the Montana Highway Patrol, the vehicle was eastbound on Interstate 90 and began merging in and out of traffic.
The car went off the road, the driver over-corrected, began to skid, went off the road again, and rolled several times, coming to rest on its top.
The driver was not wearing a seat belt and she was taken to Stillwater Billings Clinic for injuries.
The passenger was wearing a seat belt and he was pronounced dead on the scene.
Alcohol and speed are suspected factors in the crash, the patrol said.
