BILLINGS - Meet Shelly, the Planters Peanut mobile.
"These times, things have been a little difficult for people lately so our main mission is to bring a smile to people's faces," Peanutter Natalie Brigham said.
The Peanut Mobile made a stop at the Billings Family YMCA. Children were allowed to go up the steps and take a peek inside the famous vehicle.
The peanut doesn't drive itself of course, it is staffed by "Pea-nutters".
" We joke that we're driving miles of smiles with every stop we make," Brigham said.
"You know it's something fun for the kids to do. You can see the smiles on the kids faces having a great time. Meeting those folks, giving out pretty cool stickers," Yellowstone Family YMCA CEO Kim Kaiser said.
All Pea-nutters get peanut names.
"I'm Pea Nat, there's Ty the Nut Drivin' Guy, and Nut Sharin' Aaron," Brigham said.
COVID changes a few things about protocol with tours, but not their mission.
"We try to do events held by community, do as much community service as we can, but also just doing large and small," Brigham said, "You know birthday parades, drive by, if you're having an anniversary, we stop by and give you a wave. And we always peanuts on board,".
From all around the country, traveling the country, and meeting people. The three Pea-nutters driving Shelly all graduated with a sort of communication degree. They book their own interviews and schedule tours.
"I think just with everything going on in the world, a bright spot. Something different, something unique, something fun. Get the kids and our staff out, and energized," Kaiser said.
My job is the best job in the world, because our sole goal is to make people smile. And I don't think there's any other job where that is the main objective, so it is definitely a job I'm going to remember for the rest of my life, and my co-workers will too.
