BILLINGS — Speed and snowy road conditions are suspected factors in a single-vehicle rollover crash that killed three teenagers from Billings near the intersection of 64th Street West and Danford Road near Billings around 9 p.m. Friday, according to Montana Highway Patrol.
Two passengers, a 16-year-old boy and an 18-year-old woman, both from Billings, were pronounced dead on scene. The boy was not wearing a seat belt, the woman was.
The driver, a 17-year-old boy from Billings, was transported to Billings Clinic for injuries. He passed away on Saturday, according to Montana Highway Patrol. He was wearing a seat belt.
The crash happened when a Chevrolet Equinox occupied with four teenagers was traveling southbound on 64th Street. The vehicle exited the left side of the road, rolled and struck a fence. The vehicle came to rest in a field on its wheels.
Another teen in the car, a 17-year-old boy from Billings, was transported to Billings Clinic with injuries. He was wearing a seat belt.
According to Montana Highway Patrol, speed and road conditions are considered factors in the crash. Road conditions were drifted with snow when the crash occurred. The crash is still under investigation.
