BILLINGS — A 7-year-old Billings boy was found safe after his fathers Uber Eats car was stolen with the child inside from the Burger King at 520 N. 27th St. shortly after 6 p.m. Saturday.

According to Billings Police Sergeant Nate West, a newer-year silver Chevy Malibu was stolen from the downtown Burger King while the Uber Eats driver was inside the restaurant picking up an order.

The suspect stole the vehicle with the 7-year-old boy still inside.

Officers located the vehicle near Pioneer Park and engaged in a chase. The chase ended in the area of 8th Street West and Broadwater Avenue after police lost the suspect in traffic.

West said the suspect released the boy on the 100 block of Clark Avenue. The boy knocked on a homeowners door and was able to call his father.

Billings police reunited the boy with his father around 6:30 p.m. at the downtown Burger King.

West said no arrests have been made, and the investigation is ongoing.
