UPDATE 5 p.m.
The water has been restored as of 12:30 Tuesday afternoon on Fairway Road.
Residents in the area said that around 1:30 a.m. Tuesday, they heard a gush of water and debris rushing down their road. While the water has been turned back on, the road will need to be redone in the spring.
According to Scott Emerick, water system superintendent with Billings Public Works, the break was from an old cast iron main line that burst due to thermal expansion from the recent colder temperatures. They have seen five other water breaks since Sunday.
Thirty-nine homes temporarily lost water service.
