MISSOULA – The Libertarian Party candidate for Montana’s lone U.S. House seat, who’s been making rounds around the state, stopped in Missoula to chat with supporters on Sunday.

Elinor Swanson of Billings has met with supporters in over 20 coffee shops during her campaign against incumbent Republican Greg Gianforte and Democrat Kathleen Williams. She hopes that through exposure she can garner support from both sides of the aisle.

“But all I can do is say, believe in liberty, completely. It’s synonymous with peace and personal autonomy. When people really look at what it means, to have liberty, it appeals to people from both the left and the right,” Swanson said during a visit to the Break Cafe.

“So, I’m hopeful that people will recognize that.  But ultimately, it’s not up to me. I do what I can, but the rest is not to me,” she added.

Swanson will debate Gianforte and Williams on Sept. 29 during the Montana Television Network Congressional debates.
