GREAT FALLS – You may have noticed some new outdoor art in downtown Great Falls recently.

Thanks to a grant from NeighborWorks Great Falls, the city was able to score artist Cameron Moberg.

Moberg, from San Francisco, scoped out the area in February and is thankful for the warmer weather this week as he works.

“You’re essentially having an outdoor gallery,” Moberg said.

His passion is nature – but he’s willing to graffiti anything business owners and locals want.

“It’s pushing yourself and challenging yourself to get out of your box. There’s so many times where our fears stunt our growth,” Moberg said.

Friday’s mural was a postcard-like painting.

“We wanted murals downtown that people would be excited to take pictures in front of and word of mouth it would spread and more people would come, and then even more people will come. And then through that they will go see the other murals that are popping up.”

When asked what the key to becoming an artist was, Moberg laughed and said, “Fake it ‘til you make it.”

“I didn’t go to art school, but I never said no to a job,” Moberg said.
