Suspects who allegedly shot at Montana deputy identified

HELENA – MTN has learned more about the arrest of three people allegedly involved in a shooting and chase in Jefferson County on Tuesday.

The Idaho State Police identified the three people taken into custody on Wednesday and say a fourth individual has been arrested as part of the investigation.

Idaho State Police Investigations Lt. Clint Skinner told MTN they identified Kolby Schmidt, Shannon Marengo, and Michael Holloway, based on information provided by the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office following the shooting and chase.

Skinner said during the arrest at the Fort Hall Tribal Casino near Blackfoot, Idaho, police recovered multiple firearms and a significant amount of drugs.

Schmidt is being held in Idaho on charges of trafficking heroin and unlawful possession of a firearm.

Marengo is also accused of trafficking heroin.

Holloway was arrested for grand theft for possession of a stolen firearm and possession of methamphetamine.

Idaho state police say a fourth person was arrested, Angie Ahern-Krogstad, was taken into custody following a search warrant that turned up meth and cocaine.

Schmidt, Marengo and Holloway are currently being held in the Bingham County Jail in Idaho.
