The University of Montana community is mourning the loss of football player Andrew Harris, who authorities believe died by suicide Tuesday.
The university announced Wednesday that a moment of silence would be held at the Wednesday night men’s basketball game. Coaches and administrators nationwide have sent condolence notices to UM and the Harris family.
In a statement, Coach Bobby Hauck said, “The Grizzly family will continue to mourn the passing of Andrew Harris, but right now our primary concern is for his immediate family, their well-being and their privacy.”
Harris was a graduate of Glacier High school in Kalispell and led the Wolfpack to a 2014 state football championship.
