HELENA – It is with a heavy heart that the MTN family says goodbye to a friend and colleague.

Longtime MTN anchor and reporter Dennis Carlson died Friday at the age of 58.

Carlson was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer late last spring and had been battling the disease ever since.

For most of his career, Carlson worked in broadcasting, including KBOZ Radio and for the Montana Television Network as a reporter, anchor and news director.

He also worked as an elections clerk for Gallatin County, a field representative for U.S. Sen. Conrad Burns and Government Affairs Director for the Gallatin Association of REALTORS®.

MTN will remember Carlson as an incredible journalist, a wonderful mentor, a trusted colleague and friend.

He is survived by fiancée Laura Boltz and his children.
