SIDNEY- Police found a 3-month-old female infant dead at a Sidney home after an early Saturday morning welfare check, according to The Sidney Herald.

The child’s 30-year-old mother was also at the residence and in an agitated state, police told the Herald. She was brought to Sidney Health Center and later flown to Billings and is in intensive care.

During the initial call, police also found the woman’s 20-year-old brother in a nearby apartment with a knife wound. They believe he was in the same apartment as the infant, according to the Herald.

Police suspect drugs and alcohol may be involved, the paper reported.
