It wasn't an average Thursday night when a Butte citizen chased down a suspected hit and run driver and restrained him with zip ties until police arrived.
Butte police arrested Dylan Anderson on charges of hitting another vehicle at Front and Maryland streets about 8:15 p.m. then, leaving the scene.
Another driver followed Anderson to C Street, where police say Anderson tried to run away, but was tackled by the citizen, who restrained Anderson’s hands with the zip ties.
“We’d rather you call us and let us chase the bad guys and make the arrest, but in this case it worked out, and nobody was injured,” said Butte Sheriff Ed Lester.
Anderson also faces a possible second drunken driving offense. He bonded out of jail Friday.
