A ceremony was held at the Capitol in Helena on Monday as part of "Wreaths Across America."
The event was organized by the Daughters of the American Revolution, and they placed a wreath in the Capitol Rotunda.
The Daughters of the American Revolution is a nonprofit organization whose goal is to preserve history and patriotism.
The Oro Fino chapter is made up of 66 women, and they serve Broadwater, Jefferson, and Lewis & Clark counties.
Each year the members travel around Montana, placing Christmas wreaths filled with military flags.
"We stand in front of this wreath that has the flags for each branch of the military in recognition of their service and the sacrifices that they made, and that their families have made for generations and that they continue to make today," said organizer Jane Hamman.
At 10 a.m. Dec. 14, they will be placing 800 wreaths at Fort Harrison in Helena in remembrance of the Montana service members who have died.
