A social media post gone viral Friday night led to Neo-Nazi pocket knives being removed from a business in the Flathead Valley.
Community residents noticed swastikas and Nazi messages on certain pocket knives sold at the Army-Navy Surplus store in Kalispell.
Army-Navy of Kalispell quickly responded on social media that the Nazi paraphernalia were part of a bulk pallet of knives, and not ordered directly by the store.
The social media post says the store worked quickly to destroy all Nazi-related pocket knives.
Since the initial post, Army-Navy of Kalispell said they have received physical threats from certain community members.
Montana Human Rights Network Board Chair Will Randall says the quick response from Army-Navy is a positive sign for the Flathead Valley.
“Give Army-Navy the chance to show that they’ve done the right thing here and let’s not escalate this into violence or threats,” said Randall.
A longstanding business, Army-Navy of Kalispell have served the Flathead Valley for 47 years.
