Officials release name of man found dead in Missouri River

GREAT FALLS — The man found dead in the Missouri River several days ago has been identified as Victor John Struss.

At about 9:40 a.m. on Sunday, March 1st, sheriff's deputies were dispatched to Rainbow Dam for a report of a body in the river. The body was recovered and taken to the Montana State Crime Lab in Missoula for identification and autopsy.

Cascade County Sheriff Jesse Slaughter said there is no evidence of foul play or criminal activity in connection with Struss' death.

Struss, 64, was reported missing in October 2019.

The cause of his death has not yet been released.
