MISSOULA - A 16-year-old girl was killed in an incident on Highway 10 at 11:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
A 16-year-old male was driving with the female passenger on Highway 10 when the driver pulled over because he thought he hit something at mile marker 4.9.
Both the driver and passenger got out of the vehicle. When the driver got back in the vehicle, the female passenger was outside at the front of the car.
The driver believed he was in reverse but accidentally drove forward over the female passenger, and then had to reverse to get the vehicle off the girl.
The girl died at the scene.
Authorities have not yet released the name of the girl, and are continuing to investigate.
