Tracking trout on the Yellowstone River

Posted

On today's This Week in Fish and Wildlife, we talk with Morgan Jacobsen about an effort on the Yellowstone River to track trout.

Biologists are shock-capturing the fish and then insert a microchip just under the skin around their dorsal fins. The biologists can then track movement and spawning. They did about 2,000 fish last year, and are hoping for at least that many this year.
