CUT BANK — The first winter storm of the season brings heavy snow and freezing temperatures to the Northern Rockies this weekend. The accompanying video shows a blizzard falling down on Cut Bank, Montana Saturday. The footage was shot at Albertson's.

On Wednesday, the National Weather Service (NWS) issued this warning: "This early-season winter storm and/or blizzard has the potential to set a new benchmark for snow accumulations, cold temperatures and resulting impacts for parts of the northern Rockies and the Rocky Mountain Front."

There's currently a jet stream that's dividing the cold air from the northern U.S. and Canada, and the warm air from the southern U.S.

Snowfall is expected to be somewhere between two feet and four feet, with wind gusts up to 60 miles per hour.
