Patrol: 3 killed in 2 Wyoming highway crashes involving 100 vehicles

On Sunday around 3:39 p.m. the Wyoming Highway Patrol was notified of crashes involving multiple vehicles around milepost 181 and 184 on Interstate 80.

Troopers arrived to find over 100 vehicles involved between both crashes, according to a press release issued Monday. Multiple injuries and three fatalities have been confirmed.

The east and westbound lanes remained closed Monday while troopers continue to investigate.

Weather is reported to be a factor in the crashes. As of 10 a.m. Monday the estimated time to open the road is 26 to 32 hours.

The incident is ongoing and still under investigation.
