HARDIN – Unofficial election results Wednesday morning show former Big Horn County Sheriff Lawrence C Bighair has won the race, winning back his seat.
The title is currently held by Robert Frank Simpson, who narrowly beat Bighair in 2014.
Results from Tuesday’s election show Bighair with 2,357 votes and Simpson with 2,095.
Much like this year, the two men had a close race when they faced off four years ago, 1,906 votes to 1,844.
During his last term in office, Bighair faced some legal battles in Crow Tribal Court after he was charged on allegations stemming from a domestic dispute in 2008.
The charges were later dismissed.
