Newspapers across America are carrying editorials this morning defending the free press.
That comes in the wake of President Trump’s many public attacks on the media, such as calling them “fake news” and “the enemy of the people.”
The New York Times is among the papers to counter those arguments today, calling them “dangerous to the lifeblood of democracy.”
The Times and hundreds of other papers big and small were invited by The Boston Globe to run such editorials this morning, and over 350 outlets across the country are joining in.
