CNN – National Puppy Day celebrates and recognizes everything great about puppies and what they bring to us: cuteness, fluffiness and unbridled love.
It is also a day to bring awareness to the number of puppies who need homes.
According to the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, nearly four million dogs enter shelters every year.
If you don’t have a puppy and need a quick pick-me-up, there are many volunteer positions available. many shelters need people willing to spend time with the housed canines.
Also, remember what Bob Barker used to tell us and please spay or neuter your pup. Overpopulation is the key reason shelters are so full.
