SAN ANTONIO – Retired Lt. Col. Richard “Dick” Cole died Tuesday, April 9th in San Antonio, Texas at the age of 103, according to the U.S. Air Force.
Cole was the last of the 80 Doolittle Tokyo Raiders, who helped carry out an attack on Japan during World War II on April 18, 1942.
It took place less than five months after the attack at Pearl Harbor.
Cole was mission commander Jimmy Doolittle’s co-pilot.
