SOMERSET, Mass. – Two 500-foot cooling towers at a closed power plant in Somerset, Massachusetts were imploded on Saturday.
The towers at Brayton Point Power Station along Mount Hope Bay came down shortly after 8 a.m. ET Saturday morning.
The plants were long considered one of the dirtiest in the region, and the “controlled implosion” took just a few seconds.
