Q2 Weather: Warming temperatures but a windy week

BILLINGS — Windy and cool to start the week, and windy and warmth to end it.

Monday will be mainly into the 20s and 30s, with the winds increasing down the east mountain slopes around Livingston/Big Timber/Harlowton. Expect plenty of afternoon sun with a few clouds in northeast Montana.

Overnight temperatures drop mainly to the teens in single digits, the winds hold temperatures to the 20s from Livingston out towards Billings. Winds increase around Livingston with gusts of 50 to 60 mph possible.

Tuesday temperatures will warm to the 30s and 40s with a few exceptions in northeast Montana and the Big Horn Basin of northern Wyoming. Sunny to mostly sunny with winds increasing from Billings to the west.

Temperatures continue to warm through the week, with highs likely reaching the low 50s by Thursday or Friday and stay mild through the weekend. Dry conditions are expected through the week.

Billings forecast:

Monday… Sunny and about average temperatures with a high of around 36. West wind 10 to 20 mph.

Monday night… Mostly clear with a low near 24. West wind 10 to 20 mph.

Tuesday… Mostly sunny with a high of about 41. Southwest wind 15 to 25 mph.
