Stabbing leads to murder charge against Butte woman

Accused in death of 49-year-old man during a domestic incident

A 23-year-old Butte woman was charged Tuesday in connection with killing a man by stabbing him in the neck.

Susan Criss was charged with felony deliberate homicide, according to charging document in Butte Justice Court. Justice Jimm Kilmer set her bond at $100,000 and remanded her to jail.

Criss is accused in causing the death of a 49-year-old man during a domestic incident at an apartment in Trinity Loop early Monday morning. The victim was transported to St. James Healthcare, where he was pronounced dead.

Criss was taken into custody at the scene, and police reported she had minor injuries at the time.

Police have not released the identity of the victim as of Wednesday morning.
