At 622 PM MDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm 7
miles northeast of Crowheart, which is 22 miles northwest of
Pavillion, moving southeast at 25 mph.
Wind gusts of 50 to 55 mph will be possible with this storm.
Locations impacted include…
Fort Washakie, Pavillion, Ethete, Morton, Kinnear, Crowheart, Ocean
Lake, Pilot Butte Reservoir, Diversion Dam Rest Area and Bull Lake.
If on or near Bull Lake, Dinwoody Lake, Ocean Lake, and Pilot Butte
Reservoir get out of the water and move indoors or inside a vehicle.
Remember, lightning can strike out to 10 miles from the parent
thunderstorm. If you can hear thunder, you are close enough to be
struck by lightning. Move to safe shelter now! Do not be caught on
the water in a thunderstorm.
