BILLINGS- Still on track for a nice Labor Day weekend in Billings.

A cold front will continue to bring scattered showers and thunderstorms to eastern Montana Thursday evening.  Precipitation will be light, and wind is the bigger cause for concern through the evening.

Some lightning is expected through the evening with isolated storms.

Friday starts off with clouds and temperatures in the mid-to-lower 50s.  Sunshine takes over by the afternoon with 70s for highs.

The weekend looks fairly quiet, with highs edging slowly upward, reaching the mid-to-lower 80s by Monday.  Generally, dry conditions can be expected.

There are some questions as to exactly how the middle to end of next week will shape up.  But no drastic swings in temperatures are expected.

Billings forecast:

Thursday night… Mostly cloudy with scattered storms producing wind.  Low of about 56.

Friday… Mostly sunny and near 76.

Saturday and Sunday… Dry and slowly warming each day to the mid-to-lower 80s.
