BILLINGS – The fall equinox occurs on Saturday.  The week leading up to it will feel more like autumn weather.

For Monday and Tuesday, expect most to the area high temperatures to reach the mid-to-lower 70s. However, it could still reach the low 80s in parts of northern Wyoming.

Expect mainly sunshine the next couple of days, but evening showers are possible in extreme southeast Montana Monday. Across the entire area by Tuesday, there is at least the chance of a shower or isolated thunderstorm.

The sky changes from sunny to mostly sunny early in the week, to mostly cloudy by Wednesday.  Temperatures will only hit the 50s, and there is a good chance of area showers.

Overnight temperatures will drop to mainly the 40s, and the wind will remain generally light.

Billings forecast:

Monday…Sunny with a high near 72.  Easterly breeze 5-15 mph.

Monday night… Mostly clear with a low around 46.

Tuesday… Sunny early with isolated afternoon showers or a thunderstorm. About 71 for the high.
