Cool and breezy conditions will prevail over the course of the day today.

Things kick off early this morning with a chance to pick up a shower or two as the system that dropped some rain across the area yesterday makes its way out of the region.

After the passage of that system things begin to clear, leaving most of the region with a mix of sun and clouds and afternoon high temperatures right around the 60 degree mark.

The pattern will hold into the day on Wednesday which is shaping up to be the warmest of the week, however things will likely stay quite breezy through Wednesday afternoon, especially in the southern areas.

Wednesday afternoon high temperatures could approach 70 degrees.

A deep cold front will approach beginning Wednesday evening, bringing cloudier skies, much cooler temperatures, and yes, the chance for a light dusting of the white stuff.

Thursday and Friday will be the coldest days of the week and temperatures will struggle to hit 50 degrees.

The best chance for snow comes Thursday night into Friday and the higher elevations could see 2-4 inches accumulating.

One thing to monitor is the chances for frost across the region as overnight low temperatures approach the freezing mark.
