BILLINGS – Strong winds will be the big weather story over the next few days.
Behind Wednesday’s weather system, temperatures will begin to cool, clouds will increase, and winds will become gusty.
For Thursday, high temperatures will range from the mid-50s in the high elevation communities to the mid-60s across the plains, including Billings. Expect a mostly sunny afternoon with brisk winds around Livingston to Harlowton and breezy elsewhere.
Thursday night, lows will be in the upper 30s to mid-40s and partly to mostly clear. Winds could gust around 50 mph in the wind-prone areas near Livingston.
Friday will see an increase in clouds, especially from Billings to the west. Temperatures may warm by a few degrees compared to Thursday, but winds increase to 40 to 50 mph from Big Timber to Harlowton.
Saturday will be the windiest day, with gusts of 40 to 50 mph possible over a widespread area.
