Q2 Weather: Cloudy Sunday sets up Monday morning showers

Posted

Cloudy has been the word of the day here on Sunday in the magic city. And those clouds pushed across the state just a little earlier than expected and that has limited the warming across Montana. High temperatures will top out around the 60 degree mark here today and those clouds are a sign of things to come.

A system is pushing in from the west and has already brought moisture to the northwestern portion of the state while also dropping temperatures.

We will see the effects of this beginning on Monday morning with showers across the region. The system is relatively fast moving and will clear out leaving us with a mix of sun and clouds by Monday afternoon.

However even with the afternoon sunshine temperatures will be a few degrees cooler as we will find ourselves in a cooler air mass.

The rest of the week will be defined by these slightly cooler temperatures and the chances of scattered showers. Overnight temperatures will be right around the freezing mark all week and this will bring the chance of a few flurries in the early morning hours as early as Thursday and into next weekend.

Keeping an eye on the Halloween forecast for all the trick or treaters out there, right now Wednesday looks like a pretty good day with the chance of showers at night heading into Thursday morning. The window is looking good for every to get out and then be back home by the time any precipitation is falling, but we will monitor this forecast as we approach All Hallows Eve.

Overall we can expect more of a fall feel to the weather this week.
