We are currently under the influence of a large region of high pressure, which is contributing to the pleasant and stable conditions that we have seen here to close out the weekend. Afternoon high jumped up compared to yesterday and there was plenty of blue skies and sunshine across the treasure state.
The system that brought heavy snow to the Mountains, Red Lodge saw more than 10 inches, is now wreaking havoc in the Midwest. there have been Blizzard warning up across a wide region for much of the day. that warning now includes Chicago and delays at O’Hare are already up over 5 hours.
Back here in Montana the work week should start much the same as the weekend finished. things are relatively stable and Monday afternoon should see highs in the upper 30s to lower 40s. Some clouds will build in on Monday and we will notice a breeze out of the southwest.
Clouding over will continue on Tuesday and Wednesday, but things will also warm up. Highs around 50 on Tuesday and Wednesday.
Next chance for some precipitation comes Wednesday with a wintry mix possible for the morning hours.
Temperatures drop slightly heading into next weekend for a seasonal fall-feel by the time you join us for the weekend news next Saturday.
