BILLINGS – Wind and cooler temperatures highlight the short-term forecast.

Tuesday will be mainly dry with some snow showers in a few mountain locations. Expect sunshine across the plains with highs mainly in the mid-20s to upper 30s.

Winds will increase around the Livingston/Nye area with gusts of 55 to 65 mph possible by this evening and overnight. Billings could be breezy at times at 15 to 25 mph.

A Canadian clipper system drops from north to south across the region Wednesday. This will cut down the winds, but bring colder air into the region.

Expect highs mainly in the 20s with a few low 30s Wednesday and Thursday. Lows by Thursday morning will be in the single digits and teens. A few places could drop below zero.

A high-pressure Ridge building in through the weekend will bring us sunshine and above average temperatures. Friday will be in the mid to upper 30s, with a good chance of hitting the mid to lower 40s on Saturday, Sunday and Monday.
