Q2 Weather: Gusty winds Wednesday

Gusty winds will highlight the weather Wednesday and Thursday.

Some of the strongest gusts of already passed, but gusts of 60 to 70 mph are still possible of the Livingston and Nye area throughout the day Wednesday, with a high wind warning around Big Timber and Harlowton as well.

Winds will spread from west to east across the plains to the afternoon, with Billings likely seeing gusts of 40 to 50 mph. Winds will be strongest in the areas east of Billings overnight through early tomorrow.

Temperatures will be mainly in the mid to lower 40s today, with the strongest winds following along a cold front moving from west to east. Expect a mix of clouds and sun and a chance of snow showers especially in the mountains and foothills.

Overnight readings will be mainly in the 20s with periods of strong winds.

For Thursday, winds remain strong in the mountain foothills the ease across the plains. Highs will be slightly cooler, in the upper 30s to low 40s and dry.
