BILLINGS – Brace yourself for cold and snow early next week.

In the short-term, temperatures will be mild and conditions will be dry. The downside for the next couple of days will be strong winds down the east mountain slopes, making it breezy around Billings.

Wind gusts Thursday and Friday in the Livingston/Nye areas could reach 55 mph.

Temperatures will be mild, hitting mainly the upper 30s to mid-40s on Thursday, and upper 40s to low 50s on Friday and Saturday. Overnight temperatures will be mainly in the 20s to low 30s.

Temperatures begin to drop on Sunday, with a good chance of area snow. Accumulations are expected.

Temperatures become very cold Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, with scattered snow showers in flurries. Expect highs in the single digits and lows to drop below zero through midweek.
