BILLINGS – Mainly cold temperatures persist into next week. And where it isn’t as cold, the wind is likely to blow.
After some brutally cold morning wind chills, temperatures will warm a bit from Billings westward Thursday. High temperatures could make the teens, but a warm-up in Billings could be held up by cold air in the river valleys.
The Eastern Plains of Montana towards the Dakotas remain chilly, with most afternoon highs Thursday in the single digits above and below zero despite some sunshine.
Winds will increase around Livingston on Thursday night into Friday. Wind gusts could hit 50 mph causing areas of blowing and drifting, and reduced visibility with areas of blowing snow.
Temperatures early Friday will range from single digits from Billings to the west and south to the teens and 20s below zero and Eastern Montana.
Friday afternoon again while the contrast in temperatures. Highs on a line from around roundup South to Billings and Sheridan, Wyoming will be in the upper teens and 20s. Across Eastern Montana, temperatures will range from the single digits below zero to the teens above.
Everybody gets colder again over the weekend with a chance of snow showers on Monday.
