BILLINGS – As advertised, another arctic cold front passed through the region late Friday night.

Temperatures have struggled to reach zero at most locations in our area. It’s been a few degrees warmer in portions of northern Wyoming and northwest Montana.

Winter Weather Advisories are posted for portions of north central and southwest Montana. Wind Chill Advisories have been posted for much of eastern Montana. Since Friday night, light snowfall has occurred across the state with a bit more expected Saturday evening and early Sunday morning.

Along with bitter cold chill temperatures in the -20 to -30 degree range, the ongoing cold snap is also increasing the risk of ice jams along local and regional rivers. Remember – if you encounter a flooded roadway, turn around and don’t drown.

Although we’ll see a few degrees of warming Sunday through early next week, temperatures will remain below average for this time of February.
