Q2 Weather: Warmer, but more snow ahead

BILLINGS – Finally! A warm-up for most of the area, but more snow and more cold are not too far behind.

Tuesday’s weather will be highlighted by warmer temperatures, especially on a line from Roundup southward to Billings and Sheridan, Wyoming extending to the west. Highs will be mainly in the 30s.

Areas east of that line will be in the teens and 20s for the warmest afternoon readings.

Expect a mix of clouds and sun, and very gusty winds around the Livingston/Nye area. By late Tuesday, winds will increase around Big Timber.

Winds decrease Wednesday morning as the next trough moves through. The associated cold front will not the temperatures down a few degrees, and snow will develop through the day from west to east.

The mountains could expect a fair amount of snow, with the lower elevations generally seeing 1 to 4 inches Wednesday night through Thursday.
