BILLINGS- A prolonged period of snow and cold is beginning across Southern Montana and Northern Wyoming.

Serious visibility problems have been impacting areas north of Billings Saturday.  As cold arctic air slide southward, pacific moisture will stream over the frigid air and produce periods of snow through at least Tuesday.

Mountain snow could reach 1 to 3 feet of new accumulation and high totals west of a line from around Forsyth south to the Montana/Wyoming line.  This includes Billings and Yellowstone County.

Temperatures will only reach single digits for highs and drop below zero overnight through Tuesday.

Be aware of very hazardous travel conditions and bitter cold temperatures and wind chills.
