BILLINGS – Warmer weather, snow melt and flooding concerns
As we close in on the first day of Spring next Wednesday, daytime temperatures will gradually climb to – and above – average highs.
High temperatures for the Billings area this time of year average between 45 and 50 degrees. We can expect highs later this week to edge close to 60 degrees.
As the warmer weather begins to melt more of the snow, much of the region might see some low land flooding. Area waterways will likely see some occasional flooding as the thick ice covering begins to break up.
To avoid basement flooding, it’s also a good idea to move deep snow away from your home’s foundation.
Mostly dry weather is in the forecast for the rest of the weekend and into the work week.
