BILLINGS – This superb spring weather will stick around for a bit.

As of 3:58 pm Wednesday, it is officially spring, and there is plenty of sunshine across the region to mark the occasion. Mild mid-afternoon highs ranged from the low 40s to upper 50s with a few 30s in central Montana.

We’ll see this dry and warmer spring weather pattern continue through the work week with area daytime highs nearing 60 degrees.

Expect increased snow melt and runoff along area waterways. Lowland flooding is likely with potential ice jamming possible as well. Steer clear of river banks while keeping livestock and equipment away from rising water as well.

A weak trough of low pressure will move in from the southwest this weekend, bringing slightly cooler temperatures and a chance for some light scattered showers.
