BILLINGS – The first full day of spring will live up to its billing. But spring also means rain and snow showers, and there are more of those to come as well.

It will be a Thursday afternoon filled with sunshine, a light wind, and temperatures above seasonal averages. Highs will reach the 50s to 60s.

Overnight temperatures drop to the 20s to low 30s for a mild Friday morning. Expect a few clouds to develop.

Friday will be mostly to partly sunny, with highs mainly in the 50s with a few low 60s.

A disturbance Saturday night through Sunday will scatter some rain and snow showers across the area. Temperatures will slip to the 40s to low 50s for highs, but staying in the 20s to low 30s for the lows for the lower elevations.

At this point, the precipitation doesn’t look significant and snow accumulations could be confined to grassy areas in the higher elevations.

Precipitation will increase the rate of snowmelt and may lead to a few isolated areas of low land flooding and ice jams.
