BILLINGS – A warm Saturday followed by a cooler and showery Sunday.

An incoming low pressure system over Utah will splinter, sending most of its energy toward the Midwest. But some of those showers will reach southern Montana and northern Wyoming by Sunday.

A weak Canadian cold front will cool things down Sunday, allowing for some nighttime area snow showers, especially over the higher elevations.

Another ridge of high pressure will bring mostly dry and warmer temperatures for the first part of the work week.

All the while, melting snow continues to bring the threat for waterway ice jams and lowland flooding through the forecast period.

The forecast for Billings

Tonight: Mostly cloudy, a 20 percent chance of showers and a low of 36.

Sunday: Partly sunny and cooler, a 30 percent chance of rain showers and a high of 52.

Sunday night: Mostly cloudy, a 50 percent chance of showers and a low of 35.

Monday: Decreasing clouds and warmer with light southwest winds and a high of 60.
